Billinghay has one school - The Billinghay C of E Primary School. This provides a good education to children from the village and neighbouring areas. The newly opened Billinghay Children's Centre is on the old Lafford High School site.

A Message from the Headteacher at Billinghay CofE Primary School

I have thoroughly enjoyed my first two terms at Billinghay Church of England Primary School as Headteacher. The time has flown by and there have been many exciting changes with many more planned.

I came to Billinghay in January 2008 as Headteacher after having spent five years as Deputy Headteacher at a large primary school in North Hykeham, Lincoln. I do know the area, however, as before this I spent six extremely happy years at Metheringham Primary School. I am a family man with two small children and like to spend as much time with my family as I can, when I am not working hard!

We are about to embark on a new building project to enlarge the front of the school to create a more welcoming environment for visitors with a bit more room to our entrance area than we currently have. It can be a bit of a squeeze some mornings!

Our Treehouse has been recognised by the Lincolnshire Birth to Five Service as a model of good practice. Staff from other schools have visited the Treehouse to observe the excellent work that goes on. This was external recognition for all the great work that goes on in the Treehouse every day.

As stated, I have really enjoyed my time so far as Headteacher at school and have met many local people. I look forward to meeting more people in events at end of this term and leading up to the Christmas celebrations in December and beyond.

Richard Allen, Headteacher
