BILLINGHAY PARISH COUNCIL

TENDER FOR GRASS CUTTING FOR 2025 - 2027

 

The Contract for the above is now open to tenders.

The grass cutting contract period is from 01 March to 31 October each year.

Applicants are expected to use their own equipment. They would also be responsible for supplying all necessary safety equipment to the person(s) carrying out the grass cutting and associated strimming.

Applicants will be required to have Liability Insurance and will need to provide evidence of this to the Parish Council.

The locations within the village that require cutting and strimming where necessary are:

  1. Walcott Road Cemetery. This encompasses the complete area of the cemetery up to the metal surrounding fence and front hedge. It also includes strimming around and between all graves/gravestones, including the kerb set graves. 
  2. St Michael’s Churchyard
  3. Ballon Walk
  4. Small area on Fen Road/West Street Junction
  5. An area at the entrance to Park Lane

The height of grass in these areas must not at any time exceed 60mm in height. When cut the maximum height of the cut grass should not exceed 20mm. The time and frequency of carrying out the grass cutting and strimming will still be entirely up to you providing that the height of grass does not exceed 60mm.

In addition, the contract would include the cutting of grass verges in the village as per the agreement between the Parish Council and Lincolnshire County Council.

The frequency of the cut is at the Contractor’s discretion but would be a minimum of one cut every three weeks. (Maps indicating area to be cut are available on request at the Parish Office).

Any additional work that may be required would need to be confirmed in writing by the council prior to the work being undertaken.

All quotations need to be received by the Parish Clerk at Billinghay Parish Council, Ringmoor House, Ringmoor Close, Billinghay, Lincoln, LN44EY or emailed to helen.key@billinghay-pc.gov.uk by 5pm on Monday 17 February 2025.

 

A decision will be made at the meeting Monday 3 March 2025. With the successful applicant being advised on Tuesday 4 March 2025
